Abstract. A brief biography and a complete bibliography of the Bulgarian ornithologist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bozhidar Ivanov are presented. His contributions to the study of the distribution, biology, ecology and conservation of birds are highlighted, as well as his activities as chairman of the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds – one of the most active conservation organizations in Bulgaria. Among his most significant scientific contributions is volume 30 of the national monographic series “Fauna of Bulgaria” – Birds – Part 3.
